WASHINGTON, DC – A new Harry Potter spin-off film tentatively entitled “Quidditch Through the Ages,” based on J.K. Rowling’s spin-off novel of the same name is reportedly in the early stages of pre-production and a significant portion of it will be filmed in the Washington, DC area. Details of the film are understandably tight-lipped at this point but insider sources claim that it centers around the Quidditch World Cup which will take place in Washington and will likely need a large number of extras from the local area.

Quidditch, a sport popular among wizards and witches, was a key element of the novels but was significantly cut from the Harry Potter films.

Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint are reprising their roles for the upcoming film as are a number of others from the Harry Potter series. “Quidditch Through the Ages” will be the next spin-off after 2016’s “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” but it will be the first spin-off to have much of the original cast.
