KANSAS CITY, Kansas – Several years ago Julia Roberts said, “There won’t be a “Pretty Woman” sequel…” but apparently that has changed. Julia Roberts and Richard Gere met today to announce that the long awaited sequel to the 1990 film, “Pretty Woman” will be arriving in theaters late next year.
“I was wrong,” Roberts said with a smile. “There will be a sequel.” Production is scheduled to begin this fall and the film will be focused on the life of Edward and Vivian who are now living in Kansas City, Kansas. The movie will be filmed on location in Kansas City but no other details about the sequel were provided. “I’m very happy that we’re finally do this,” Gere said toward the end of the interview. “More than any other film I’ve done this has always been the one that I wanted to have a sequel. I couldn’t be happier about it.”
