To those who discourage people from coming to northern Indiana I would like to share a bit of wisdom I read many years ago. A man who was traveling came upon a city he had never been to before. He asked a gentleman “What kind of people live here?” The gentleman replied “What kind of people are there where you come from?” The man answered “Good, kind and wonderful people”. The gentleman replied “You’ll find the people here the same.” The next day a second traveler walked up to the gentleman and asked “What kind of people live here?” The gentleman replied “What are the people like where you come from?” The man replied “Scoundrels, crooks and thieves!” To which the gentleman replied “You’ll find the people here the same.” No matter where you go you can find something to complain about. I was born in Chicago but have lived most of my life in the South Bend/Mishawaka area. It’s home and I love it just the way it is – four seasons and all.

I grew up in South Bend Indiana it was a great place I’m sure you’ll like it people are hospitable Notre Dame your college town team is great times.. definitely get four seasons its all good.the great thing about it yoy have Chicago right at your fingertips when you want a little big city… Have a great life there for your self..Welcome!!! oh by the way I live in Atlanta now..but I still come home to visit and have family therelu history. I will welcome him everyone has the right to change there life, I’ve been back 3 yrs from nc, I was raised here when I was a teenager, I really like nc but crime rate is bad back there so I had no choice but to move back it’s more safer here then cali or nc so he wants a change so be it, You are welcome in my book.

Born in South Bend, lived and worked there 65 years, moved to Southern Cali. after retiring. Loved SB, but when you get older, winter is horrible. My heart will always be in SB. Notre Dame is a very exciting part of South Bend….Go Irish !!!!!
