As an Arcadian, I would love to say welcome to our humble neighborhood Mr. Depp!! Arcadia is a beautiful place to live and to raise your family. I believe you’ll really enjoy it here. I have lived here over 25 years and am proud to call it my home. It is a quiet community with a great school system. One of the best in the nation and the people who lives here are genuine, humble, and nice.

As long as you’re moving here to Arcadia, you need to come to our community-based 24-hour Fundraiser for the American Cancer Society called Relay For Life. This year we’ve combined Monrovia, Arcadia and Duarte for the MAD Relay! Come to Santa Anita Park Race Track on Saturday April 16th at 11am and enjoy a wonderfully MAD time raising money to fight cancer! Everyone is invited, not just Johnny Depp.

I wish I knew he was coming; my mother just sold her house in Arcadia, and we’d have given him a great deal just for the prestige of it.

Mr. Depp, if you go to the Family Festival in Monrovia (next door to Arcadia), please wear a disguise. We try to keep this lovely street fair a secret because we don’t want it to become ‘Westsided’ like Old Pasadena. Your presence would attract gawkers.

On a more serious note… why choose Arcadia as a potential home in an April Fool’s gag? It really is a beautiful city, with a great many homes in the multi-million range, and a gated hillside area where the homes go for $10 million or so? Some famous, wealthy people have made Arcadia their home.

I guess because if the story said “La Puente,” the gag would have been too obvious. Needed a plausible destination.

You should come out a little further east to Glendora. It’s a very quiet town with really nice people and a great School District.
